Macs Fan Control for MAC
Monitor temperatures and control the fan speed of your Mac, on Intel and Apple Silicon. Free version.
Macs Fan Control Overview
Macs Fan Control shows the temperature sensors and fan speeds of your Mac in real time and lets you take control of the fans. You can set a fixed fan speed in RPM, or have a fan speed up and slow down with the temperature of a sensor you choose, which helps with a MacBook Pro that runs hot or a noisy iMac after a hard drive replacement. Macs Fan Control is made by CrystalIDEA.
The Mac version is free and works on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later; a version for macOS 10.7 to 10.12 is available too. A Pro version, a one-time purchase, adds custom fan presets and priority support. When you quit the app, all fans go back to automatic control by macOS.
Key Features
Macs Fan Control shows two tables: your fans and your temperature sensors.
- Real-time monitoring: fan speeds and temperature sensors, including third-party drives through S.M.A.R.T.
- Custom fan speed: set a constant RPM value for any fan.
- Sensor-based control: link a fan's speed to the temperature of a sensor, such as the CPU or a drive.
- Menu bar display: show fan speed and a sensor's temperature in the menu bar.
- Auto mode: leave fans under the system's automatic control and use the app for monitoring only.
- Fan presets: save custom presets and switch between them (Pro).
- Safe exit: all fans return to automatic control when the app quits.

Macs Fan Control FAQ
Is Macs Fan Control free?
Yes. The Mac version is free to download and use, including fan monitoring and control. Macs Fan Control Pro is an optional one-time purchase that adds custom fan presets and priority support.
Does Macs Fan Control work on Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes. Macs Fan Control works on all Macs, both Intel and Apple Silicon.
Which macOS version does Macs Fan Control need?
Version 1.5.22 needs macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later. The same version is also available for macOS 10.7 Lion to 10.12 Sierra, and an older version for Mac OS X 10.6.
How do I set a custom fan speed?
Click Custom next to a fan and choose either a constant value in RPM or sensor-based control, where the fan follows the temperature of a sensor you pick.
Is it safe to control my Mac's fans?
It is meant for users who know what they are doing: setting fans too slow can let your Mac run hot. When you quit Macs Fan Control, all fans return to automatic control by macOS.
Can Macs Fan Control make my Mac quieter?
It can. For example, after replacing an iMac's hard drive, the fans often run at full speed; linking the fan to the new drive's temperature sensor can bring them back to normal.
Can I see temperatures in the menu bar?
Yes. Macs Fan Control can show a fan speed and a sensor temperature in the menu bar.
What are fan presets?
Fan presets save a set of fan settings so you can switch quickly between them depending on what you are doing. Custom presets are a Pro feature.
Is there a Windows version for Boot Camp?
Yes, but the Windows version for Boot Camp on Intel Macs is a 14-day trial, not a completely free app. Controlling fans under Windows needs a Pro license for macOS and Windows.

The download button leads to Macs Fan Control's official page on CrystalIDEA's website at https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. macs-fan-control.FULLMAC.app does not change or repackage the app.

Performance MonitorPerformance Monitor is a lightweight menu bar app that shows what your Mac is doing right now. A live readout sits in the menu bar, and one click opens a popover with cards for CPU, memory, disk, thermal, GPU, battery, network and Bluetooth.
